Much as I love our move and the Boulder area itself, I do miss my friends, my family and I so miss the familiarity of living somewhere for over a decade. But those feelings are assuaged by knowing all of this is right here at my fingertips.
While the Divine Miss M’s best friend was still here, we let them take advantage of tubing down the creek. They had a ball, and it definitely provided a few moments of humor.
Somewhere along the way, though, their hands were separated and the best friend got caught in a whirlpool. So, the creek took the Divine Miss M for her own ride.
And then she caught her breath and started all over again, because she rocks like that.
It is surreal that we can do things like that at our leisure, without packing the car and driving a great distance first. But what is more surreal is that I only have to drive about 30 minutes to see all of this.

I can go visit this little one, as well as some of his friends, if they decide to come out and play.
One of my chosen tribe has a birthday today, and since she often tells me she now intends to vicariously live in the mountains, these are for you. Happy Birthday, Laura!
