Exactly. Lousy day? Stop, look around and remember where you are!
I love the Sink, I do. But the main reason I took this was anything that says, “Welcome to the Anxiety Chamber” probably belongs outside the door of the resident 11-year-old as a warning to those about to enter. It’s a crash course in pre-teen years around here.
Maybe it’s just me but that GMO sticker makes me chuckle just a little every time I read it.
I wonder, coincidence or does this shop-owner read The Bloggess? The best part of this find was when, before I even saw them, The Divine Miss M threw her arm in front of me and said, “Careful, this chicken will cut you!” Proud parent moment. (As a disclaimer, M has only ever heard a g-rated version of that notorious blog post).
It still seems surreal that on any given day, this is just a thirty minute drive. It was a cool day, perfect breeze and rain in the distance – the elk definitely had the right idea. I joined them by reading by the bank of a stream all afternoon. A little Hemingwayish, I suppose, but enjoyable.
But the best picture I’ve taken recently is most definitely this one:
This is the face of a very excited Sixth Grader on the first day of school. After months of lamenting having to leave her old school and her friends, when her first words after the first day were, “My new school is awesome!” followed closely by “I made a lot of friends today, it was easy!” – I’m not sure I’ve ever been so relieved.
Maybe I can exhale now.
